The Players Tour assembled once again at Duran Golf Club for it's 4th Annual "Orlando" Tour Stop for two action packed days of Professional Long Drive Competition.
On day one of qualifying, mother nature took it's course on the grounds, delaying the start times 3 hours, dropping an inch of rain, and leaving behind balmy 52 degree temperatures and 15-20 mph head winds.
Nevertheless, all of the professionals showed up with winning intentions and hearts of champions as the toughest 24 qualified through after the last ball soared into the cold night sky!
The following morning, the 24 finalists paired up with over 100 Amateurs for the 2nd Annual Players Tour Pro-Am Invitational. The day started off at a frigid 42 degrees bur quickly warmed to a normal 65 degree Florida winter day.
Rocky Shipes, Trick Shot Artist and Players Tour Member, set the mood for the afternoon's events with a jaw dropping show filled with laughter and excitement!

The crowds gathered as the Finals were on their way. Stiff head winds didn't stop these powerhouses from blasting the golf ball over 300 yards!
Kevin Bullard, Dave Gureckis, Brad Landry, Dustin Merrill, David Mobley and Adam Stacey battled their way through to the Semi-Finals.
Brooks Baldwin, Vince Howell, Joe Miller, Steve Monroe and Carl Wolter made up the Players Tour Orlando 2007 Finalists.
All made a great showing, but one made the best...
Jeff Gavin let everyone know he was feeling it that night! He hit every golf ball as if it were his last, staring and yelling at them to travel every inch they possibly can.
The cold weather and wind seemed to have no effect on this Canadian as he came out on top of some of the world's longest hitters.

Danny "The Blade" Luirette "Releases His Fury"
At The 6th Annual Laughlin Memorial Hospital Tennessee Shootout
After finishing no worse than 9th place in every Players Tour Event he ever competed in, Danny "The Blade" Luirette released his fury at The 6th Annual LMH Tennessee Shootout capturing his first Players Tour Win. Luirette's longest drive of the event was 397 yards, but his drive of 382 yards was all that he needed to surpass Bart Hartsell's 2nd place drive of 374 yards.
This win makes Luirette the 2006 Players Tour Money Leader with $10,000.00 in total earnings and advances him to 3rd on The Players Tour Rankings, only a mere 60 points out of 1st.
After 5 great years of organizing one of the most reputable and exciting Professional Long Drive Competitions, Laughlin Memorial Hospital and The Players Tour have joined forces for the 6th Annual LMH Tennessee Shootout and Pro-Am. Together we worked together providing our Professional Membership and the people of Greeneville, Tennessee yet another spectacular event.
